Charles M. Harper Sr.

Bio:

Charles Harper is currently a history educator, teaching AP Human Geography, US Government, and Economics for Dallas ISD.  Before returning to the classroom as an educator, Charles worked in the state government space as a Learning and Development Manager, an HR manager, a DEI Manager, and other similar roles that provided education on work culture and operations.

Charles is a published author of four books and has appeared on numerous talk shows over his career. He was the playwright, director, and actor of the off-Broadway monodrama “Black and White: A Man Divided” which also featured 7-time Grammy Award winner, Malik Yusef.

Charles is a U.S. Navy veteran and spent 13 years as a Local 150 Operating Engineer before returning to work in the education sector following a severe spinal injury resulting from a 2009 construction accident.

Charles has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, double majoring in history and philosophy, with a minor in cultural anthropology from the University of Arizona. He also has an MBA from the same university. After pursuing a Doctor of Psychology at the University of Arizona for two years, Charles changed course and is now a 2nd year Ph.D. student of Business Management at National University. 

Charles M. Harper Sr. is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., in the Iota Mu Sigma Chapter, in Arlington, TX. He crossed in the Fall of 2019 as a member of Theta Mu Sigma Chapter, in Dallas, TX. In 2022, Charles was named the inaugural recipient of the Phi Beta Sigma Mental Health Champion recognition.

Charles M. Harper Sr. is the Past Master and lifetime member of Pleiades Lodge No. 478 of the Grand Lodge of Illinois. He holds membership with the Valley of Chicago, NMJ. He is an honorary member of Eternal Light Lodge No. 156 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Illinois and African Lodge No. 459 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. 

Charles delivers education on the application of Masonic Ritual to improve interpersonal connection, communication, and emotional intelligence.
